The Tennis Club of Albuquerque (TCA) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the selection of Guillaume Dupont as the new Head Tennis Professional at TCA, effective January 1, 2014.
Guillaume brings extensive experience in tennis program leadership, coaching, and instruction with him to TCA. Most recently at Western New Mexico University, Guillaume recruited and coached outstanding collegiate players, led the men’s and women’s teams to RMAC regular season and tournament championships, and was
named 2012 RMAC Men’s Head Coach of the Year. Prior to that, Guillaume was head tennis professional at Lobo Tennis Club (LTC), where he oversaw programs and publicity activities that resulted in LTC’s selection as 2010 Southwest Member Organization of the Year. His educational background includes a Master’s degree in sports psychology and coaching.
Guillaume will take over from Dave “Ocho” Ochotorena, who is retiring as TCA head professional at the end of the year. Ocho has led TCA tennis programs for the last 31 years, overseeing an wide range of high quality tennis programs and instructing hundreds of junior and adult players. The board and membership of TCA would like to thank him for his years of outstanding service.
Guillaume was selected by the board to take over the TCA tennis program following a national search run by a board-appointed search committee. This process included over 40 applicants from across the nation and around the world, an extensive interview process, and substantial feedback from club membership. The board would like to thank members of the search committee for the service and club members who attended interviews and provided valuable feedback to the committee and board.
